Southpoint Glen was acquired in 2018 with a business plan focused on modernizing the buildings and unit interiors, starting with a full re-siding, replacing the original cedar siding with Hardiplank boards and introducing a new, fresh color scheme.
Shortly after the initial acquisition, we had the opportunity to acquire a smaller adjacent community (now called Trails at Southpoint Glen) that was made up primarily of rental townhouses but without any amenity set. By combining branding and operations of the two properties, we were able to bring a complimentary unit mix into Southpoint Glen’s offerings while giving the townhouses access to a full amenity set. We also created significant operational effececiency, driving value at both properties.
